WHW Tutorial and Card too! :)

Hello friends! Today, it is my turn for the Whoo Hoo Wednesday and I have a quick tip on how I keep my Dies from moving when running them through the Big Shot! I hope you enjoy!

I had a lot of fun creating this Halloween card with all its details! I let my imagination run wild with this one. My labels and image come from the Halloween Labels and Fancy Labels 18 stamp sets. After cutting them out with the Big Shot, I then lifted each one with dimensionals.

On the top of my card is a spider web from My Mind’s Eye paper, so I thought it would be fun to have spiders running down the side of my card stock. These spiders are from last years Tricks & Treats stamp set.

What better than some dead dried flowers and leaves added to the corner of my card?! I distressed each IBS White Rose with distress ink and then bent the wire to give them that dead and droopy feel.

A Personal Note:

Today was a super special day for my oldest daughter Tessa. She competed against regional kids from grades K-7 in a drawing competition and was one of the winners. The competition was about saving the Great Barrier Reef and how picking up our trash helps the ocean. She is the June month and is the center page for the calendar. I am so very proud of her. xoxo

Simple Saturday Happy Holiday Card

Today’s 5x5 Christmas card is all about simplicity or CAS (clean and simple). Clean and Simple means to me, a card that requires no stitching, cutting, die cutting, using minimum supplies and takes less than 10 minutes to put together. This card did all of that. Let’s take a peek….

 

Firstly, let’s talk paper. Paper says everything in a card and today’s My Mind’s Eye Christmas paper is the main focal point. To not deter away from the beauty of this, I added a pre-made tag and placed it on in angle to showcase the gorgeous Christmas bird.

I then stamped a Christmas sentiment from the New Elegant Christmas Sentiments stamp set. For some added details, I tied a bow, glued on a poinsettia and added some Crochet Fabric Tape along the bottom.

The Biggest Tip Today: Add Dimensionals or foam tape throughout your simple card. What does this do? This gives the card added dimension and brings the sentiment/tag out to you or the reader. Or you could say the tag  grabs your attention first.

Halloween Tags

My first project features the Halloween Tags stamp set! I had so much fun creating this little window box frame filled with Halloween goodness!

I first created 6 boxes from a Sizzix Die. Next, I used some Halloween Paper and adhered all this amazing paper to the inside of each box.

All the stamps in this new set will fit inside a die or punch! Perfect for quick cutting! I stamped each label and tag and adhered it to the inside of each box.

To put together each box, I used some Sticky Strip Red Tape! This tape was amazing to hold each box together. For some extra adhesion, I also added some Fabric Tape! This worked beautifully and added a touch of shabbiness to my project.

I decorated each box with flowers, leaves and rhinestones! I then adhered to each side brown satin ribbon so that I can hang this beauty up in the house for Halloween!

Elegant Christmas Sentiments

As some of you saw a few weeks ago, I went paper shopping! The Christmas and Halloween paper is the best I have ever seen! And I am so excited to use all my goodies! The paper pairs up beautifully with Inspired by Stamping Stamps!

I used the “Merry Christmas” sentiment and a snowball border along the border of my sentiment. I tied two double bows and then adhered them using some glue.

I placed pearls on each corner and stitched along the edges for some shabbiness!

For my second project using the Elegant Christmas Sentiments, I made a 5x5 Christmas card using the NEW Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge Sketch.

Here is a close up of my sentiment and the new snowflake border available on Friday!

Halloween Labels Revisited! 

My last card features the Halloween Labels Stamp set. If you missed yesterday’s post featuring this fabulous stamp set, CLICK HERE!

I stamped my image using Memento Black ink and cut it out using the Spellbinder Label 4 die. I colored my moon a light yellow. I love how it just makes the moon pop out with color!

2 New Black Flowers and a New Brown Flower was added to the corner of my card.

A vintage Mother’s Day Card…

Good Morning or Good Evening sweet friends! It is our first day of school holidays this  morning. My three little ones all had sleep ins until after 9am. It was so quiet this morning that I enjoyed some crafty time in the craft room. It was lovely and this is the Mother’s Day card for my Mom that I created. (Hope you like it Mom! )

On Saturday, my darling daughter spilled a cup of water all over my laptop. I watched as my computer screen slowed died and then turned into the black screen of death. My hubby, who is a computer wiz, grabbed the computer and took the hard drive out. He than laid it on its side with heat lamps all around it over night. Yesterday, I not so patiently waited for him to put it back together and to see if it worked. My entire life and business is on it. The day before my back up drive decided to die and I lost all of that too. :/  And so to lose my computer was heart wrenching. I was in tears of joy when he came into our room and it was working! What a blessing! Yay!

With that said, I am busy working to get orders filled at the Inspired by Stamping Store. I hope to get the rest of them filled today. Thank you in advance for your patience! Floral Love stamp set was perfect for my Mother’s Day card. I used some My Mind’s Eye paper with lots of stitching around the edges. Rose Buds, Curly Flowers and Mixed Flowers created this beautiful little bouquet of flowers. I then added some pearls, a vintage KaiserCraft clock and buttons for some vintage glam.
