CAS Birthday Card

Happy Friday Blog Friends! It is sooo quiet here today as my three little ones are at their grandparents for a couple of days. I have enjoyed my time alone reading, meditating and sleeping. Hehe! It has been wonderful. I look forward to having them home tomorrow though. They are my heart and soul and I love them so dearly.

I have been busy behind the scenes getting ready for our October release in 10 days! I’ve been packaging new goodies, taking photos and getting the website ready! It’s all about Christmas this month! And we are ALL excited to share with you what’s going on here at Inspired by Stamping!

I took a little break today and created this CAS card…

I have lots of little scraps laying around and used them here with my card. For a little extra, I stitched along each piece of cardstock. To cover the uneven edges of  my cardstock, I used some Vintage Crochet Trim.

I adhered 3 IBS flowers to the corner and attached a tag from Fancy Tags Stamp Set. I then stamped “Happy Birthday” from the free Vintage Frames stamp set.

Simple Saturday Happy Holiday Card

Today’s 5x5 Christmas card is all about simplicity or CAS (clean and simple). Clean and Simple means to me, a card that requires no stitching, cutting, die cutting, using minimum supplies and takes less than 10 minutes to put together. This card did all of that. Let’s take a peek….

 

Firstly, let’s talk paper. Paper says everything in a card and today’s My Mind’s Eye Christmas paper is the main focal point. To not deter away from the beauty of this, I added a pre-made tag and placed it on in angle to showcase the gorgeous Christmas bird.

I then stamped a Christmas sentiment from the New Elegant Christmas Sentiments stamp set. For some added details, I tied a bow, glued on a poinsettia and added some Crochet Fabric Tape along the bottom.

The Biggest Tip Today: Add Dimensionals or foam tape throughout your simple card. What does this do? This gives the card added dimension and brings the sentiment/tag out to you or the reader. Or you could say the tag  grabs your attention first.

A CAS Card for Monday and Photos of Our Weekend

As we jump start our week, I thought I would share with you a CAS card. This card was super simple and fun!

Are you a follower Inspired by Stamping Facebook page? Get latest information, archived cards and a little what’s happening with me. I had such a blast yesterday with the family! The photo of Brad and I was a hoot! We had to take that one at least 6 times and was just cracking up laughing! I have a few shares at the bottom of my post of our day yesterday. I hope you enjoy!

I used a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 size white card base to begin my card. I then stamped the "postcard” sentiment from Vintage Postcard stamp set.

2 Cherry Blossom flowers, 2 White Rose Buds, a Pink Rose buds and some leaves created this lovely bouquet of flowers. I then took a strip of Crochet Fabric Tape and adhered the flowers to the card. A cute pink button just created that little extra something.

This lovely sentiment comes from the Cherish stamp set. I then rounded the corners and distressed the edges with brown ink.

Yesterday was Father’s Day here in Australia. We headed to the beach and had a picnic lunch with the kids. It was beautiful weather and a fun family day hanging out with the most important people in my life.

I was taking photos and my goof ball family stuck their heads out at me while taking this photo. So funny!

The Great Barrier Reef with lots of coral, fish and oysters! We saw a reef shark and a huge crab that I was too chicken to get a photo of.

While driving home, two kangaroos jumped out in front of us. One had a joey inside her pouch and ran away. The other one stopped and kept grazing and eating grass. I was able to get this photo of it before it hopped away.

A Happy Birthday Clean and Simple Card

It’s a CAS (clean and simple) week here! And today, I have a birthday card for a little boy.

I used some IBS Red Polka Dots Washi Tape and some other Washi from my stash. I then added some hemp twine with a bow. Three little yellow brads were added to the corner.

I stamped my Fancy Labels 3 stamp set in Red and cut it out using a Spellbinders Die. I then cut out my “Happy Birthday” sentiment from Kids Fun using a slightly smaller die. I then lifted it using some dimensionals.

A CAS thank you card

Happy Monday blog friends! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. We were Weekend Warriors this weekend, unpacking the last of the boxes, washing windows and hanging photos and catching up. It is soooo wonderful to be completely moved into the house. Yay :)

This little card was suppose to go live on Saturday but the weekend just got away from me.  I hope you still enjoy it.

This week, I will be featuring CAS cards! I have some great things to share this week!

I grabbed some Kraft Paper for my card base and stitched around the edges with some chocolate colored thread. Delicate Doilies II was stamped with VersaMark and then embossed in white.

In the corner, I stamped a “thank you” sentiment from Floral Love.

I used a Spellbinder Die to cut out my center image using pink patterned scrap paper. I then added some IBS flowers to the center.

Happy Friday Sweet Friends! I originally made this card for my IBSIC card yesterday but just felt there was something missing?! What do you think? Would you classify this as a CAS card? I will let you decide…

I am off to have lunch with my hubby today! It is so wonderful to have him home and get caught up! We tried to have a date last week but that didn’t happen because we were so sick. So I am super duper excited to spend some time with him.

I used the All Year Wishes I stamp set for my “Hello” sentiment. Victorian Crochet Trim and Rosewood Satin Ribbon were added for some glam. I placed an extra large rhinestone on top of my bow.

Elegant Flowers were stamped in Rose Red ink, heat dried and then colored with Copic Markers. I then lifted them with a few little dimensionals of varying sizes.

Tip: Heat drying the ink helps stop smudging when coloring with your Copic Markers.

A CAS Card

Hello sweet friends! Thank you for all your beautiful comments about my Mom’s paintings. It really touched my heart and hers. :)

I was able to get all the orders shipped today. Yay! Thank you so much for all your support and orders! Please remember that shipping usually takes 7-10 business days.

The last few weeks, my family and I have all gotten the horrible flu. My turn was this weekend. It was so wonderful to be sitting in my craft room today and be up and about again. I seem to tire easy still. So I made a little CAS card.

• I used the Delicate Doilies II and Vintage Sayings stamp sets with this orange and blue card.
• The Delicate Doilies II border works beautifully with the New Washi Tape.
• I stamped three sentiments together and then punched it out using an SU! 2-1/2” circle punch.
• Spellbinders Labels 4 and 11 added additional layering to my CAS card.

Simple Saturday Card featuring Elegant Flowers

Today’s simple Saturday features one of my favorite stamp sets Elegant Flowers and a wee bit of coloring. ;)

I colored my flower using Copic Markers and then added some yellow and white glitter for some sparkle and glimmer. Big Notes was stamped in Brown ink above some yummy crochet trim. I then added three little pink rhinestones to balance out my card.

Washi Tape ~ Simple Saturdays

Washi Tape has been all the rage for the last few months. Last week, I received some in the mail from a sweet friend and I just can’t stop using it! wow! is all I can say! It is fantastic stuff. I just didn’t know all the things you can do with it either. Here are a few photos that I saw on-line that amazed me!

We will definitely be decorating some eggs next Easter with Washi Tape. :)

Here is some of the Washi Tape that I received. Love it! I bet you know what I am doing behind the scenes! :) I think this was the quickest card I have ever made.

And my second simple card that took a matter of two minutes. I think Simple Saturday cards have taken on a new meaning. LOL!

A Simple Saturday Thank You Card

A quick and simple card to share with you today. These are the perfect 4x4 size cards to have around when you need to say thank you to someone special.

I stamped “Thank You” from the Heartfelt Gratitude stamp set using Brown ink and then placed lots of Inspired by Stamping flowers using glue dots for a bouquet.
